Stortz couplings come in Aluminium, Brass or St/St materials and don’t have a separate male of female matting half as each mating part is designed with 2 identical locking lugs per head which you simply twist together and then fully tighten with an associated Stortz spanner. It’s important when selecting the right Stortz coupling that you ensure you have picked one’s that have identical locking lugs which is called the “KA” distance which is the distance between each lug in mm (Details of how to check this is explained in our PDF attached). if the distance between the lugs differs the couplings will not lock together. These couplings are commonly used to convey a wide range of fluids and powders and are popular in fire fighting applications, waste water transfer and on powder blowing and road tanker systems.
